Retain ring configuration is based on the use of thick-walled pipes and has a machined flat (butt end) surface at the pipe end and an annular groove on the outer diameter. After the machining process is completed, the flange is placed on the pipe and the retain ring (consisting of a segmented stainless steel ring held together by a spirally wound stainless steel spring) is passed over the outer diameter of the pipe and placed in this channel.

By connecting the flanges together with bolts, the flanges are pulled towards the retain rings and the O-ring sealing retainer remains captive within the connection. Pipe diameters 1 1/2″ – 10″ are available for use with retention ring flanges. Standard connection types offered; Compatible with SAE and ISO 4-bolt flanges and 8-bolt proprietary flanges from Tube-Mac® Industries. Different flange patterns can also be provided upon request.
